About Us
Future Doctors in Politics (fDIP) is a recently established national 501 (c)(4) nonprofit working to build the next generation of doctors into a political force for patient-centric, equity-oriented change. fDIP originated at Harvard Medical School and now has multiple chapters in development at medical schools nationwide to motivate, educate, and train medical students to participate in the political process, impact public policy, and seek elected office.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Executive Director to oversee the administration, finances, program portfolio, communications, and strategic plan of Future Doctors in Politics. Reporting to the President and fDIP National Board, the position requires a leader prepared to supervise day-to-day operations, implement sustainable fundraising practices, recruit and manage staff, foster organizational growth, and drive impact. The ideal candidate will recognize the untapped potential physician and future physicians have to effect structural and political change and will be ready to articulate the why, what, and how of this budding movement. They will have prior experience building and growing organizations and mobilizing diverse audiences and stakeholders to invest in an ambitious vision to make change happen. The position is remote but may require travel.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operations of organization and supervise all fDIP National Teams and staff

Support national directors and fDIP National Organizing Director with identifying deliverables, developing timelines, and executing on plans to further fDIP’s organizing priorities.

Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, accountability, and transparency within and between teams.

Institute and maintain consistent reporting processes to track and ensure progress towards identified goals.

Support national directors and fDIP National Organizing Director with identifying deliverables, developing timelines, and executing on plans to further fDIP’s organizing priorities.

Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, accountability, and transparency within and between teams.

Institute and maintain consistent reporting processes to track and ensure progress towards identified goals.

Collaborate with fDIP President and National Board to develop fundraising strategies and create sustainable revenue streams.

Identify potential donors and leverage the National Board to cultivate donor relationships.

Identify and apply for relevant grants.

Secure finances for annual campaigns and events through sponsorships.

Ensure maintenance of updated financial records, corporate documents, business licenses, registrations, certifications and insurance policies.

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory and reporting requirements.

Contribute to development of a strategic plan and drive its implementation.

Collaborate with fDIP National Board to craft annual strategic plans.

Establish best practices to operationalize strategic plan and assess progress with meeting key benchmarks.

Partner with fDIP National Organizing Director to build and execute public engagement strategies that raise the national profile of the organization.

Identify appropriate digital and other targets. Institute process for tracking progress toward targets and optimizing strategies to achieve goals.

Work closely with fDIP National Organizing Director to manage chapter development and integrate emerging best practices into engineering a scalable and sustainable chapter model.

Attend all Board meetings and provide reports and updates on staff as well as all current work, project timelines, and project and organizational progress.
Skills and Experience

Deep management experience with demonstrated success building and growing teams in political campaigns or advocacy organizations

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with demonstrated success crafting messaging to resonate with diverse audiences

Prior experience setting and meeting ambitious fundraising goals through donor engagement and grant procurement

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meeting frequent deadlines

Demonstrated experience managing partnerships and relationships with multiple stakeholders especially funders, campaign partners, consultants and volunteer leaders

Passion for fDIP’s mission to empower the next generation of doctors with the mindset and skillset to drive patient-centric, equity-oriented political and policy action

This is a remote position, and candidates must have consistent access to reliable internet and phone.
